The Short Award is an award from the Memorial Hall made possible by a bequest from a former resident of Goxhill Mr. Charles Short. Nominations are requested each March for those deemed worthy of promoting charitable works to benefit the village.
At the recent AGM for the Memorial Hall the following nominations were received for the 2008 Short Award. Anne Burford for her many years input to the bingo sessions at the Memorial Hall and Brian Burford for his efforts towards maintaining the snooker tables at the Hall. The committee unanimously agreed to make a joint award to Mr. and Mrs Burford and they received a voucher to spend at Stephen Smiths Garden Centre.
