Welcome to Gander News section
The Gander continues to develop and grow. Not everything makes it into the printed edition, so we decided to facilitate a news section to be able to tell you what we otherwise may have to wait up to 3 months to do so! As the Gander is a quarterly publication, it can be very difficult to ensure that the contents are as current and up to date as possible. The Gander is primarily a PRINTED publication, so we never intend this to be a blog. Our assistant edutor Rebecca de Torre, in charge of social media ensures that the Gander Facebook page lets you know when there is something new on the website, and regularly also posting in the Goxhill Grapevine.
🔍 Independent Watchdog Reporting
At the very heart of our village - intended to safeguard us by monitoring and acting on these issues - is our Parish Council. As your new editor, leading a magazine that is entirely independent from any political group, I believe it is vital for The Gander to act as a proactive watchdog. The decisions made in the parish room directly impact us all. Holding local officials accountable is exactly what independent community presses are meant to do. The GPC Investigation covering from July 2024 is the pilot of the series, bringing you up to date (well, at least a little as so much goes on) before moving onto regular GPC updates.
